It’s been a busy autumn for us, so I apologize for having fallen a bit behind on my postings here. Last Saturday (October 9) we got up at 5 a.m. to drive to Ithaca, NY for the Fall Friends of Tompkins County Public Library Book Sale.
Fortunately it was a beautiful morning (the stars were out when we got up!) and standing in line was rather pleasant, chatting with other book lovers and a few old friends. Once inside, we spent four hours or so searching through the stacks and came away with about a hundred nice titles. Here are a few of the books we found:
On Wednesday, October 13, Ron and I did a presentation on book collecting and bookselling at a meeting of the Rochester Bibliophile Society. About twenty-five people attended this event held in the Community Room at Barnes & Noble in Pittsford, NY. Our thanks to Ken Kelbaugh (Before Your Quiet Eyes Used & Rare Books) for inviting us to do a presentation for the Bibliophile Society. It was a pleasure to be around such a wonderful group of book lovers; they were a terrific audience with lots of great input and questions!
I also recently interviewed Jilliane Hoffman, author of the just- released legal thriller Pretty Little Things. Movie rights to her first book, Retribution, have been purchased by Warner Brothers Pictures and the picture is currently in development. My article about her books and our interview will be appearing at Bookthink in the near future!
