More Summer Book Scouting Fun

Last Friday (July 15) we traveled to the Annual Kirkland Library Sale on the village green in Clinton, NY.

Kirkland Library Sale - Clinton, NY

This is always a fun sale, with lots of books under numerous tents set up in the town square.  Clinton is a beautiful little town, and home to Hamilton College.

The fountain was a welcome sight on a hot summer day

There’s something especially pleasant about an outdoor book sale (as long as it doesn’t rain!).   After spending a couple of hours collecting some nice books, we had lunch at a restaurant called Nola’s, just off the village square.

After some rest and refreshment, we made a little side trip to Berry Hill Books, which is just a few miles away in Deansboro, NY.

Inside Berry Hill Books

Berry Hill stocks a great variety of reasonably priced vintage books in their three story book barn.  And they have chickens!

And now it’s back to grindstone, to continue sorting, cataloging and shelving all the beautiful books we’ve been gathering this summer.   Watch for them on our Old Scrolls Book Shop website!
