Spring Book Scouting Outing!

We’re going places!  After months of tending the log fire, dusting the shelves, cataloging and packaging books for the mail, (and more recently, planting trees!), we are more than ready for a bookman’s holiday.  It’s time to go in search of more great books to add to our store’s inventory.  Follow us over the next two weeks on our 2012 Spring book scouting trip as we head west to Ohio and then travel I-75 south to Florida, visiting used & rare book shops all along the way.

We work hard and put in long hours on these trips, but we have fun too, and enjoy sharing our experiences with you as we see new places and meet fantastic people from far-flung parts of our country who have a common interest–a love for books.  In the past we have blogged many trips like this with our readers, hoping we can bring to light some book shops and interesting spots on the map that you may want to visit, too.   If you have any suggestions for bookish stops along our southern route, please let us know in the comments section.  We like to veer off the beaten path.  We may take an entirely different route on the return trip, we really haven’t decided yet–so anything goes.

Come along with us as we explore the mid and southeastern United States in search of fine, rare or just plain quirky books, intriguing book shops, and literary points of interest.  Stay tuned!
